A blogger’s guide to setting up a WordPress site: the first few stepsEconsultancy (blog)This is the first in a series of posts discussing how to set up and run a WordPress blog from a relatively experienced expert, which will feature many helpful and hopefully relevant tangents. Firstly I should reveal a little bit of background about …

I may pay someone to create and manage my website as I am having multiple problems. I installed easy paypal for the service I offer and after I enter the info, it keeps saying “error, null value cannot be entered” or something like that. It keeps asking for product files and that’s not how my need works.
Is there a simple site that explains all the what-nots of wordpress and site maintenance?
I’m trying to install WordPress via cPanel, I’ve created a sub-domain with my add-on called blog.mydomain.com. But when I install to my add-on domain directory, it always redirects me to my main domain and I can’t login to the WordPress admin.
Is the right process to setup blog.mydomain.com as a sub-domain even though it’s just added on? Where should the blog files be installed exactly?
Thanks in advance.
To be clear, I have two domains here…
The main: http://www.mymaindomain.com
The add-on: http://www.myotherdomain.com
I want the blog installed on myotherdomain.com
I would like to have wordpress setup so that my posts have a thumbnail and a short description on the main page and then when you go to the page for the post it has the rest of the content.. a video or images or whatever…
how can I do this
I got my site and domain with GoDaddy and did their auto wordpress setup, however, when you go to my main domain it says the site has not been uploaded yet, but if you go to mydomain/wordpress it works…I want to get it so that mydomain.com is where word press is setup, how do I do this?
Many of the site pages come up as subdomain.mywebsite.com and i want to change that to http://www.mywebsite.com instead. I have tried changing it in the general settings but then i cant access the site or wp-admin at all.
I’m looking to start a blog which should i use?
well i recently downloaded word press and ran it (i have a little knowledge in MySql and php) and it made me register a username and password. now i came across wordpress.com ad tried to log in using my account but it doesn’t work. So what’s the difference between those two?
And another question how do you make the installed website into a functional website??
I migrated my website (flixified.com) over to WordPress from Blogger a few weeks ago and all of the links from my social posts (which are my biggest converter) didn’t work anymore for the simple reason that Blogger has a “.html” in the end of the url. The urls are identical except for that. I would prefer not to go into htaccess. Is there a plugin that will work? If so, how would I go about doing it? Once again, I just want to make it so, whenever somebody comes to my site, to take off the “.html” from the url.
I’m trying to find out if a regular website can be setup to “ping” like a wordpress blog? If so, how? Can you give me a clue?

I am starting a website only for the selling of wordpress and blog themes. How do I set up everything? I see websites that have a whole system for buyers to pay and demos of the themes. How do I do that? Somebody please help. I don’t know how to put up pictures of the theme or how to make it so when the person buys it so I get the money and they can download the theme. bmwsitedesigns.com is the new site but I don’t know how to set everything up. HELP!
I’m using Artisteer to make the wordpress themes.

Ok, I am trying to set up a chat on my website http://www.mufnmedia.com I am using a wordpress template and I have a question.
When I set the chat up as a page on its own, is there any way I can have it set up on a subdomain, such as chat.mufnmedia.com? what my goal is, is to have the page go to chat.mufnmedia.com when the link is clicked on as opposed to mufnmedia.com/page_id=some#.
Is there anyway to do this? I am wanting the page itself to be on the subdomain. I know that i could very well set up a link for the subdomain and have it redirect to mufnmedia.com/page_id=some#, but this is not my goal. I want to be able to have the chat on the subdomain, but have it accesible from the main page just as if it were a regular page.
Thanks
