Have you ever noticed that? I have and I really think that in this economic crisis we are in, that we deserve to hear good news. I would rather hear good news than stuff about bail out plans and all the jobs being lost. And I am down right tired of hearing about the stock market. What about you?
I’m looking for proof that The Fox News Network is the top news network, or the most watched.
Where can I find that info, or anything to the contrary?
Cable or basic TV. Doesn’t matter.
I want to find a news story that deals with our rights for homework, it has to be CURRENT and it has to be big news. I want something that people can debate and help. I need this by the end of this day. Please Help!
I cannot get through any Liberally biased news show without shaking my head in disgust. What is sickening is that so many Americans watch this garbage and believe it word for word. It’s no wonder that Fox News is #1. It has no competition!
LOL @ the guy who tried to show that FOX News isn’t #1. Awww, nice try.
Fox news always seems to have the stories before, sometimes weeks before, the other networks. How do they do it?
If its fake, why does news keep talking about it?
There are many news companies that are too paranoid about reporting certain truths that need to be reported because of the possibility of ruining their reputations. How would someone start their own news company? Is there certain criteria or guidelines within the law for starting up a news company?
What are the good news of the kingdom of God?
What is the kingdom of God?
What religion is preaching the good news of the kingdom of God?
Matthew 24:14: And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
The answer is NOT “The War of the Worlds: Breaking News. (2005)”.
The main story dealt with 3 huge asteroids impacting the world. There was no alien attack with vehicles like in War of the Worlds. It was a fake news report based on those 3 asteroids. They had fake interviews with scientists, charts, graphs, graphics, locals, on-site news, conspiracy theories, and debates. I remember watching it on Halloween in the 90s.
For example, one trait exhibited by legitimate news organizations is that when they print or read out “letters to the editor,” they do not only select letters that agree with their take on things or praise them. They select both complimentary and critical letters. Moreover, when they do select critical letters, they do not reply with sarcasm, ad hominem attacks, a counter attack, or by rolling their eyes. In fact, they usually do not reply at all. They just let the readers or listeners decide for themselves whether the criticism is valid or not.
What are some other examples of traits the differentiate legitimate professional news organizations from news organizations run by spin doctors? Does taking a certain political position automatically render a news organization invalid, or is it how they express their position and how they react to those with a different position that renders them biased and hence illegitmate?
Greg V: Point taken! Ok, there’s no such thing as an unbiased news organization. But is there a point beyond which a news organization becomes so biased that it can no longer be considered legitimate?
I cant think of one, news always seem’s to be bad when I watch it or read it but their must be some really funny news occasionally as well!
I just heard on the news that Kiss had a live event on FB last night. How do you find out about stuff like that beforehand? How do you find other news and events on FB?
Thanks!
Even during the night like Eyewitness News, News 12 etc, Are those recordings during the night or are they still doing live broadcasts ? Aren’t they tired ?
well, I want to build a database of news items and develop algorithms to tag them as positive or negative…
any tips about the algorithms?
Is it even possible to find an unbiased news outlet anymore? I don’t particularly care for FOX or CNN, so please don’t suggest those. Al-Jazeera is allright sometimes. NPR is okay too, but it seems like even they are only telling us what they want us to hear. Is there a more scientific way for me to pick my news sources? Is it all about your personal preferences and where you feel comfortable? How do you choose a news source?
Recently, in Yahoo news, one of the top stories was a birthday party for a rap singer in Las Vegas. Why is this a top news story?
Too keep a story short, I need an example of a news report or article that is misleading. I am in a debate, debating against the media exaggerating stories, one of the arguments being that exaggerating a story could be classified as misleading, leading to one sides opinions from the public.
So what is a news report (must be true), that has been misleading to the public.
Thank you for answering.
I personally feel that MSNBC and CNN give news in an unbiased manner, but I have noticed that a lot of conservatives believe differently. I have noticed Fox news anchors give Jon Stewart a hard time based on his show, even though it isn’t a news show and have watched some of them admit that they give their news based on their right wing beliefs. I don’t think any news show should give out news based on their own personal beliefs. How do you feel about this?
I feel that too many people don’t consider that the news source they are watching or listening to may not be credible. I feel like many people have this mentality of whoever is loudest must be correct.
What makes you consider a source to be credible?
I’ve seen many that assert that the media is biased against Sen. Clinton because now there is only positive news about the Obama campaign and negative news about the Clinton campaign. Please tell me some positive news about the Clinton campaign that is going unreported.
I enjoy reading Reuters and Yahoo News but I want a website that will give me the most important news stories from the entire day, not the most recent breaking news. I want something like an online newspaper for US and international news.
A while back I came across what I considered extremely important news and wanted to let national TV news channels know, most specifically thinking of CNN or even MSNBC, but could not find anywhere I could “click” for lets say “news tips”, “contact us”, “urgent news”, or similar. It may sound silly but there are some things sometimes people feel better telling it to news mediums than police or other authorities.
Why? Well because news people are always willing to hear and listen to what you can explain to them in an intelligent way. Most of the time authorities tend to make their own judgement without you finishing your story. Or worse yet cut you off telling you “let proper authorities handle it”.
I have no idea how any news channel would have reacted to what I thought was something odd and a bit complicated, thus making it important in the world situation we now have. But just in case I come across something like that I want to tell someone immediatedly, in strict confidence.
I just want a news channel that’s actually a news channel. Not not biased liberal democrat crap like CNN or GOP like Fox News. I just want a neutral news station where I can watch freely with no biased crap or crap that isn’t real news like Justin beiber breaking up.
By the time i get the news the stock price has already jumped in response to good news. I use Seeking Alpha updates. Is there an accessible way for me to get updates quicker so i can participate in the jump?
If you publish a news article online, how do you get it to be on the top results of a search engine news section?
I want to ignore the statuses and news feed from a specific friend on Facebook. Is there any way to ignore what they do, yet they can still see my wall and be my friend?
I need to find two news articles for extra credit. One is on how to raise people up to the same level, and the other how to bring people down to the same level. Any suggestions on where to look?
The news is nothing more than sensational stories these days. Is there anyone who thinks this is acceptable?
So how do they get their information to write the news or get the latest update? Do they use some sort of site? Or do they get people to call in to give them the information?
I have do do this news recording for school (no video) and was wondering what I should say at the beginning to sound cool like what they say on the news like “and just in this is ___ news reporting to you from LA CA) stuff that sounds cool like that but at the beginning not the end.
What is the definition of regulatory news, stress tests and interest rates? And how do these to relate to stock/share prices in Brit banks?
I am sick of news stations that give biased, one sided news. What is the best news station to get both sides of the issues?
I meant one sided opinions, not news. Sorry about that.
All the news media have different audiences and approaches to writing stories. With that said what do you think is news worthy? Do you care about celebrities or would you like to hear about more political issues? What would you like to see on the news? Or should the news have a mixture of all so that it is not just one-sided and depressing?
You see your local news and local sports news and local business news etc in a local paper. WHO finds out about them if the paper doesn’t get a news tip?
10 points to the most knowledgeable!
What are the criterias for a news item and what are the criterias for a feature article?
I need to write both a news item and a feature article in an assignment so it is important I know the differences between these two.
I just want a news channel that’s actually a news channel. Not not biased liberal democrat crap like CNN or GOP like Fox News. I just want a neutral news station where I can watch freely with no biased crap or crap that isn’t real news like Justin beiber breaking up.
I have AP government summer homework. We need to find 5 articles spanning the month of July and August. We also need to maintain a journal that contains 3 news stories and a one paragraph opinion on each news story that is also spanning the month of July and August. I just realized that the teacher used different words to describe the assignment. My guess is that news story contains a cluster of related articles that complete a story. And an article is a single piece of journal writing. I really need to know, otherwise I can’t do my homework correctly. Thank you so much for whoever tries to answer appropriately!!

Now, I am not an expert on politics. I don’t watch Fox News, I don’t really watch much tv. If I do watch news, I watch the News Hour on PBS.
However, I have heard and seen many things that point to the fact that Fox News is purposefully lying, manipulating news and manipulating viewers due to a conservative agenda. Due to the popularity of Fox News, should it be considered a detriment and a threat to our society? Should any news organization have that much power to sway public opinion? Should any news organization with a political agenda, especially one that lies, be allowed to have such influence over our country?
What are the best sites to learn about business in Ukraine i.e. business opportunities, latest news, politics etc…. thank you
On the Glen Beck show on Fox News they have installed a red telephone. The telephone number on the phone has been giving to only one source. The White House has been giving this number, and has been invited to call the show at any time they would like to correct what Glen Beck is saying. The telephone was installed on Monday, so far there has been no phone calls from any one in the White House or on the staff there. There for is giving assumed that everything that Beck is claiming about Obama and the White House is true. Please don’t say they don’t want to lower them selves to his level, they have already done that. But thanks to the White House the ratings for Fox News is climbing to a new record. The listeners in the most part are enjoying what they are hearing. Fox News was the only news station to break the news on ACORN. Others followed later.
