Mayer arrived at Google back in 1999 with a master’s degree in computer science from Stanford. A math whiz with a photographic memory, she managed the launch of more than 100 features and products at Google, including Google News and Gmail. If you like Google’s clean, uncluttered look and feel, you can thank Mayer. One would expect someone with that kind of energy and ability to get tapped for a C level position, but about a year and a half ago, Google moved her to mapping and location services – away from search. The new Yahoo homepage design is AWFUL!!!…I can see why Marissa Mayer would like to make changes ASAP to make her footprint known as the new CEO of Yahoo, but THIS HOMEPAGE IS NOT the way to do it, at least NOT with this design. If it were a better looking and functioning design, I’d be fine with it, but it shows no personal style for Yahoo, the category areas are not well defined and it’s NOT fun! I always enjoyed the colorful Yahoo banner and the way it functioned, that you could click on it to get current fun info.or holiday info, etc. Also, on the topic of the side bar categories, why is Maps never included on this list? I always have to click a link a to get to MAPS. I’m sure it’s a category that people use frequently, so why not add it to the main side bar category list?
Also, the fact that the HOMEPAGE CHANGED on the users, with NO WARNING, and we can’t revert back to the old style was NOT a good plan…come on people, this was not a “leak of a new homepage”, they simply changed it with no warning!!!
BTW, I’m a graphic designer, so I know of what I speak, so to speak!!! 🙂
If I try to open Yahoo weather for a given location it does not open and srews internet explorer. I can not end the task as it is not responding. I have to shut down the computer.
I had filed a court case more than five years ago. This case had found mention in the webpages of some leading Enlish Newpapers at that time. When this news item is searched through Google or Yahoo search engines, it still shows up on the internet even after so many years. As it is distressing to me, what should I do to take this very old news item which has no value to anyone, off the webpages of the respective newspapers or even removing it from the search engine itself so thatit never shows up again on the internet
Can someboby please offer a solution?
