1. Organize an injustice campaign. Find something in your niche that you think is wrong and start a campaign to stop it. Notice how I put things in quotes here. You could do this with some kind of serious injustice (invisible children), or with something that might be viewed as funny/interesting. If you’re a programmer, you could start a campaign against code with crappy/no comments. If you’re an Android fan, you could start a campaign against iPhone. If you’re going to go with something funny, then it should be extremely relevant to your niche. 2. Give a discount to people that tweet a…

Please provide arguments for credible evidence for the existence of god. I offered this challenge in response to the “Atheist Starter kit” question, in which it was stated that Atheists do not accept arguments supported with credible evidence.

In philosophy we are trained to build up an opponents argument as strongly as possible, and present it in its best light. I do this even when the person giving the argument doesn’t even present it in the correct logical form, or not even as an argument. I have done that for the most part on this site. I challenge you to give an argument and present “credible evidence” for the existence of your “god”. I will critique your argument. If your argument is convincing I will change my mind, and convert to your way of thinking.
2. The “intelligent design” argument is similar to the “first cause” argument where everything has to have a creator. Then who created god? An intelligent creator must have created him as well. Therefore god created god, created god…etc to infinity. This is the vicous circular argument that you speak of, which therefore fails to prove the existence of any god.
If you say he has always existed, then I can say the universe has always existed as well, as there is no proof.
3. But that is just pascals wager. And here is what is wrong with that. First of all, there are more religions than just christianity, If you bet on christianity and you happen to be african, and you have ignored your african ancestors and your ancestral religion, then you will not get across the black river to the other side when you die. If you happen to bet on YAHWEH and its actually Brahman, then you would have made a mistake as well. If you believe in jesus, and jesus is not YAHWEH, then you pay the penalty. So if there is belief when you are wrong, there is a high price to pay. If there are no gods, you’ve wasted your time and money on earth, and you pay the dummys’ price.
4. Makes no sense as stated. Let me see if i can fix it for you. This just the notion that everyone is born a sinner, and can’t help sinning. Even when a christian has not committed any sin, it is pointed out that they have sinful “thoughts” all the time. But this just shows how ignorant the religion is. It teaches its believers that you can’t help but to do wrong, and jesus will forgive you no matter what.
So every husband is lusting after every woman that walks by and every wife is doing likewise….what a consoling thought—–this promotes evil.
5. The bible IS full of mistakes and mistranslations. For example, some versions say “Thou shall not kill” and some say “Thou shall not murder” which are two different things. Yet YAHWEH commands humans to kill, so YAHWEH says never to kill, and then he commands humans to kill, which is a contradiction. Humans “kill” for food”, so not making the distinction between “kill” and “murder” is just stupid. In some places the NT misquotes the OT, for instance it says that Isaiah prophecizes the coming of jesus, but the passage they cite is not from Isaiah, only part of it is.
As it is written in Isaiah the prophet,
Behold, I send my messenger before thy face,
who shall prepare thy way
The voice of one crying
in the wilderness prepare the way of the lord.
make his paths straight
Mark 1:2-3
While Mark appears to be quoting Isaiah, he has actually crafted 3 separate references from the scriptures in one saying: the part about sending a messanger is from Malachi 3:1 the part about” before thy face” is from Exodus :23-20 and the part about the voice and the preparation is from Isaiah 40:3 It was not unusual for writers in Marks time to combine such sayings in a creative way.
6. It’s the christians that use the “catch phrases” with no argument to back them up. The christians use what I stated in #4 to be immoral, as they can’t help themselves, and god forgives you for everything that you do. Therefore you do not take responsibility for your actions. Ethics are formed via Normative Ethical Theories, and mine is Utilitarian, which means I believe in doing whatever increases the overall good. christians do not even follow the divine command theory which states whatever god says is right, is right. For instance, christians dont even follow all the laws and all the prophets until the end of time as jesus himself states:
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.ll you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be call
Silver Star Danser,
that is just the Experience Argument. Assume the experience argument is valid and sound. Then Hinduism and Brahman is true; Islam and Allah is true; all traditional African religions and all of their Gods and Goddesses are true; All traditional Native American Religions and their Gods and Godesses are true: and everything has spirit is true–because all of this has been experienced by those who experienced them. –Not many christians or muslims will accept the experiencs of people from other religions. This is a weakness in this argument for them.
Also some people experience pink elephants flying, and so, it is true that they have the sensation and experience of pink elephants flying–it is true for them–but in reality, other than in their mind, there are no pink elephants flying around.

What I have said applies to all of the arguments for god(s)/goddesses or any other supernatural entities.
In Hindusim, they accept the other teachings of the different prophets as just being the teachings of Vishnu. Therefore, they tend to be more tolerant than christians and muslims. So, as a scholar I recognize the differences and similarities between the different religions. I will consider any argument from any source and will change my mind from what I believe if I am presented with valid and sound arguments that are supported by credible evidence and are better than other competing arguments.
Saying that contradictions do not exist in the bible does not make them disappear.
